‘Helplessness Blues’, Fleet Foxes brand new track

There are a only a handful of bands that I have been dying to see, and at the top is Fleet Foxes who released the title track of their next album, “Helplessness Blues,” last week.

In a Rolling Stone interview, frontman Robin Pecknold said the subject matter is “…more existential. Questions about who you’re gonna be, why you do what you do, relationship stuff. I felt like that was OK, because I come from a self-involved generation. A protest song about world peace in the context of a Sixties-referential folk band in the year 2010 would kind of have no meaning.”

If you like Fleet Foxes you won’t be disappointed, I have had this on repeat for all week. The album comes out on May 3, 2011, so we don’t have much longer to wait, yet I still have quite a while to wait for their tour to ever hit Milwaukee.
