LA Light

It could be said that laying The Cinematic Orchestra‘s ‘To Build A Home’ over any video will lead to instant applause, but this 6-month dedication by Colin Rich to his late Grandmother, capturing the spectacle of LA at night through time lapse photography, truly stands up on its own right.

Interestingly enough, the project proved a little difficult for Rich, due to suspicious security officers and police while shooting at night. I am amazed by the shots behind the Hollywood sign, as I know the Brush Canyon Trail that goes by the sign is closed at night and there are even thermal/infrared sensors around the sign. Rich’s dedication to his art truly paid off.

The film was shot via Canon 5D Mark II and 7D cameras together with Zeiss and Canon lenses and custom hardware.
