GuitarTown in Pictures – June 1, 2012

Waukesha celebrated in style this weekend, thanks to the official debut of Gibson’s GuitarTown right downtown. Waukesha GuitarTown features 10-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars, and a series of regular size Gibson guitars, artistically designed by acclaimed Wisconsin visual artists and displayed in front of the city’s landmarks and businesses. Each guitar celebrates a musician, personality or artist unique to the region’s history, with guitar sculptures sponsored by local businesses and individuals.
That night music stages were setup all over town, and right in the heart of downtown Waukesha, at the five-points, the Les Paul Trio, Rusty Paul (son of Les Paul), Sammy Llanas and Richie Furay Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and former member of Buffalo Springfield and Poco performed.

This post is a pictorial reflection of this past weekend’s event. All photographs were taken myself. The debut event occurred June 1st in honor of Les Paul’s birthday, featured musicians and celebrities, and opened Downtown Waukesha’s annual “Friday Night Live” summer music festival.

Great photos from a great weekend!
Thanks for the appreciation.
